Description

A “faux” rotary beacon with no moving parts. Used by numerous railroads from the 1970’s-1990’s. This older version uses a cast base (that was usually painted), with a slightly taller, square lens . Amber, red or blue domes were used – amber being the most common on the railroads. Chances are if the Stratolite base was painted to match the locomotive – it was an 8901. Cored for an Aaron Heine or Rapido Stratolite effect unit. Includes 4 grey resin bases, and 4 clear resin domes.

Note – This is NOT the Stratolite used by Southern Pacific.

Common Railroads: Burlington Northern, Milwaukee Road, Santa Fe

Instructions for lighting are provided on the packaging.  We will have a blog post on how to use our strobes and beacons in the near future.
