Quantum Q2000 strobe lights! As far as I know, Burlington Northern was the only railroad to use these in the early 1990’s as an alternative to ditch lights. Unfortunately, they did not last very long before being replaced by traditional ditch lights. The neat part about these – they use the generic Pulse style locomotive speedometer (or speedometer calibration) box to house them! All the door, hinge and locking tab detail is on them. I had one of those “I know that box!” moments when researching them. These come in packs of 5, along with the lenses. They are designed to use an 0402 LED, but an 0201 will definitely fit a little easier.
